Privacy Policy

We believe in being direct and transparent about what data we collect and why. This policy explains exactly what we do — and what we don't do.

Last updated: January 2026

Overview

TrueJourney ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users and the businesses that trust us with their sales data. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use TrueJourney's website at truejourney.io and the TrueJourney application at app.truejourney.io.

By using TrueJourney, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms described here, please do not use our services.

Information We Collect

We collect information in two primary ways: information you provide directly to us, and information we access from third-party systems you authorize us to connect.

Information you provide: When you request early access, contact us, or create an account, we collect your name, email address, company name, and any information you include in your message. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry and, if you become a customer, to provide and improve our services.

CRM data you authorize: When you connect TrueJourney to your CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, or other supported platforms), we access data from that CRM in read-only mode. This includes:

  • Opportunity and deal records, including stage history and close dates
  • Contact and account records associated with those opportunities
  • Activity records — calls, emails, meetings, and tasks — logged against those records
  • Timestamps associated with all of the above

We access only the data necessary to build account journey maps and related views. We do not access billing information, personal communications outside your CRM, or any data beyond the scope required for the product to function.

Usage data: We collect standard server logs and usage analytics to understand how TrueJourney is being used and to improve the product. This includes page views, session lengths, feature interactions, and browser/device information. We do not sell this data.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide the service: CRM data is used exclusively to generate account journey timelines, buying committee maps, and related views within TrueJourney.
  • To respond to inquiries: Contact form submissions are used to respond to your request and, where applicable, to schedule demos or onboarding conversations.
  • To improve TrueJourney: Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us understand what's working and what needs improvement.
  • To communicate with customers: We may send service-related communications (updates, maintenance notices, security alerts). We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

We do not use your CRM data to train machine learning models. We do not use your sales data for any purpose other than generating the views you see inside TrueJourney. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for their commercial purposes.

Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. TrueJourney implements the following security measures:

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher
  • CRM data is encrypted at rest using AES-256
  • CRM connections use OAuth or token-based authentication via official CRM APIs — we never store your CRM credentials
  • Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel and requires multi-factor authentication
  • We are pursuing SOC 2 Type II certification and will make that report available to enterprise customers upon request

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we take all commercially reasonable steps to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and CRM-derived data for as long as you are a TrueJourney customer. When you terminate your account, we will delete your CRM-derived data within 30 days. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months.

Some information may be retained longer where required by applicable law, to resolve disputes, or to enforce our agreements.

Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the address below. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.

Third-Party Services

TrueJourney integrates with third-party CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot) under your authorization. Our use of data received from those platforms is governed by this Privacy Policy. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of those platforms separately.

We use standard cloud infrastructure providers to host TrueJourney. These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually required to maintain appropriate security and confidentiality standards.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify customers directly. Continued use of TrueJourney after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
